Children gynecology
Children gynecology is a specialized field focusing on the care of the female reproductive system from birth through adolescence. It addresses not only issues related to puberty and menstruation, but also conditions that may occur in infancy and early childhood. The goal of children gynecology is early diagnosis and gentle treatment of health concerns, prevention of future complications, and support of healthy physical development. How the Examination Is Performed
All examinations are conducted with regard to the child’s age and always in the presence of a legal guardian. The physician carefully explains each step to both the child and the accompanying adult, with special attention to the child’s psychological comfort.
The visit begins with a medical interview focusing on current concerns, developmental history, and relevant medical information. Height and weight are recorded as part of the assessment. This is followed by a general physical examination and an examination of the external genitalia. Internal examinations are performed only when medically necessary and always in the most gentle manner possible.
Depending on the clinical situation, an ultrasound examination or additional tests may be recommended. Based on the findings, an appropriate treatment plan is proposed and follow-up visits are scheduled if needed.
