Cardiology

A cardiologist treats inherited and acquired diseases associated with the heart and blood vessels, such as arterial hypertension, arrhythmias, heart failure; and—most importantly—deals with patients following a heart attack. The cardiovascular system is probably the most important part of the human body, thus a cardiologist is an essential specialist.

Cardiologists manage typical symptoms such as dizziness, palpitations, chest pain / discomfort, and shortness of breath. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek a medical check-up.

A cardiologist usually examines patients based on a referral from their general practitioner. The cardiologist’s role is to diagnose and treat the patient, but also to educate patients and promote healthy lifestyles in order to avoid heart conditions such as hypertension, arrhythmia, or infarction. Cardiologists do not perform surgical procedures.
